Lettuce Beat Crime update!

This post expired on August 21, 2023.

Dear Friends at the Suncoast Co-Op: Thanks so much for your support of the New Port Richey Environmental Committee’s presentation to the City Council last night, and the opening of the Seed Exchange and Community Gardens project yesterday morning. Thanks also for your sincere interest and engagement with the various projects we are working on.

Your presence yesterday was as heartening as it was generous. I know how busy we all are — and I know how challenging it can be to make it out to even one event, let alone two. Your tremendous show of support was extremely beneficial to creating the community context for our projects, and a wonderful assist to the favorable reception we received from the Council. On behalf of the Environmental Committee, and quite personally, from my heart, I am sincerely appreciative. The ongoing work and vision of the Co-Op is not lost on me — not for a minute, not for a second.

As some of you may know, I am a grower-member of the Co-Op, and my interest and support of the mission is unflagging. I know the same is true for all of you. Our inspired and talented leaders are mapping out an exciting new future for local-sourced food and sustainable agriculture — not just for those of us fortunate enough to be active members of the Co-Op, but for the entire community. They and we are making a difference, and it shows.

It certainly was shown yesterday at the two events. By taking the time to come out yesterday, you stand as witness and testament to the considerable community support that exists for projects such as those being birthed in New Port Richey. You (we) reveal in powerful and substantial ways the depth and breadth of commitment to a sustainable future. I am certain that the success of our report and proposals to the City Council of New Port Richey was reinforced in powerful substantial ways by the presence of so many from the Co-Op. What a difference that made!

Of course, the active assistance many have given to various projects, such as the Seed Exchange, Tasty Tuesday Market, and Earth Day makes an enormous practical difference as well. That kind of hard work and day-to-day discipline is not overlooked. That is what builds a stronger community and shapes a kinder sweeter world. Kindness and sweetness are the fruits of working together and sharing the gifts that we have in the spirit of cooperation. It makes a difference, and it is appreciated. You make a difference and you are appreciated — not just by me but by the entire community.

Thanks for helping build a sustainable future and sharing with me an immediate world of Good.

With Sincere Appreciation,

Dell deChant
